Professor Patel Presents at ABA 'Next Generation' Conference
On Jan. 28, Professor Menesh Patel virtually presented at the American Bar Association’s 2022 Next Generation of Antitrust, Data Privacy and Data Protection Scholars conference.
Patel presented a joint work with Columbia Law School Professor Merritt Fox titled “Common Ownership: Do Managers Really Compete Less?” The paper relates to the common ownership question, which inquires whether large institutional investors’ concurrent ownership interests in rival firms is causing firms to compete less.
Professor Menesh Patel joined the UC Davis faculty in 2018. His primary research interests include antitrust, corporate law, securities regulation, and capital markets. Prior to UC Davis, he was a fellow at Columbia Law School and Columbia Business School and practiced law at Sidley Austin LLP.
