Professor Patel addresses possible effects of 2020 election on antitrust law

On Oct. 28, Professor Menesh Patel participated in the panel “Antitrust After 2020,” presented by Paul Hastings LLP.

The panel evaluated the various ways the November election could affect antitrust law. Panelists discussed the implications of the election on a wide array of antitrust issues, such as the potential for further antitrust actions against dominant technology companies; modifications to the merger clearance process; and potential legislative change resulting in reformulations to fundamental aspects of antitrust law.

Professor Menesh Patel joined the UC Davis faculty in 2018. His primary research interests include antitrust, corporate law, securities regulation, and capital markets. Prior to UC Davis, he was a fellow at Columbia Law School and Columbia Business School and practiced law at Sidley Austin LLP.
