Professor Lin Publishes Op-ed on Chemical Safety Legislation in Daily Journal

Professor Albert Lin published on op-ed in the Daily Journal regarding a new law designed to reform federal oversight of chemical safety.  In the article, Professor Lin outlines various aspects of the Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety Act, which addresses many of the shortcomings of the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA).  He calls passage of the Act "a heartening development from an otherwise gridlocked Washington."

Still, Lin cautions, "Enactment of the Lautenberg Act is only the beginning. The devil, as always, is in the details. The act will take years to implement and require substantial resources. The EPA must vigorously wield its new authority to generate toxicity data and review chemical safety, and Congress must provide sufficient funding."

Albert Lin is a professor at the UC Davis School of Law with special interests in environmental law, natural resources law, and evidence.
