Professor Lee Speaks at UC Irvine Conference on Myriad Genetics
Professor Peter Lee was an invited speaker at a recent UC Irvine School of Law conference on Association for Molecular Pathology v. Myriad Genetics, a Supreme Court case ruling that isolated DNA comprises patentable subject matter. There, he presented a work-in-progress called "The Supreme Court's Myriad Effects on Scientific Research: Definitional Fluidity and the Legal Construction of Nature." The piece argues that the Supreme Court's ruling will promote freedom to operate in research science in addition to enhancing access to clinical diagnostic tests.
