Professor Lee Presents Papers at the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office and Arizona State University

Professor Peter Lee recently presented a paper at the Works in Progress Intellectual Property colloquium hosted by the United States Patent & Trademark Office and co-sponsored by George Washington University. Professor Lee's paper, "Centralization, Fragmentation, and Replication in the Genomic Data Commons," examines challenges of managing massive amounts of data arising from genome sequencing initiatives.

Additionally, Professor Lee recently presented a work-in-progress at the Arizona State University Legal Scholars Conference. There, Professor Lee discussed his forthcoming article, "The Supreme Court's Myriad Effects on Scientific Research: Definitional Fluidity and the Legal Construction of Nature." The paper examines the implications for scientific research of the Supreme Court's recent ruling that isolated DNA is not patentable subject matter.
