Professor Lee Gives Talks, Discusses Partnerships at Five Law Schools in China

Professor Peter Lee recently returned from an academic trip to China, where he gave talks and discussed partnerships at five law schools. He was an invited speaker at the Value Pluralism and Intellectual Property Law conference at the University of Hong Kong. At the conference, which was co-sponsored by the University of Pennsylvania School of Law, Professor Lee presented a paper called "Social Innovation and Patent Law," which explores non-technological innovations aimed at serving the public interest.

Professor Lee then visited Wuhan University School of Law, Zhejiang University Guanghua Law School, Fudan University School of Law, and the China University of Political Science and Law. Professor Lee gave a series of talks at these schools, including lectures on recent developments in U.S. patent law, the impact of intellectual property rights on global development, and trends in university patenting and academic technology transfer. Professor Lee also discussed potential partnerships with these schools, including opportunities for further exchanges by students and faculty. Professor Lee worked closely with Director of International Programs Beth Greenwood, who played an instrumental role in arranging these visits. 

Professor Lee's scholarly work addresses the intersection of science and society, particularly exploring the patent system's impact on scientific and technological progress.
