Professor Larson to speak on guns and gun-law history
Professor Carlton F.W. Larson will speak about “The History of the Second Amendment and
American Gun Control Laws” at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 22 at the UC Davis Student
Community Center.
His talk is sponsored by the Campus Community Book Project. The 2019-20 book project
features a yearlong program around Another Day in the Death of America: A Chronicle of Ten
Short Lives by Gary Younge, and the overall theme of violence/gun violence.
Carlton Larson’s research interests focus on constitutional law and legal history, with a strong
emphasis on the 18th century. One of the nation’s leading authorities on the law of treason,
he is the author of the book The Trials of Allegiance: Treason, Juries, and the American
Revolution (Oxford University Press).
