Professor Larson a finalist for ABA Silver Gavel Award for second straight year

Professor Carlton F.W. Larson is a finalist for an American Bar Association Silver Gavel Award for the second year in a row. The awards recognize outstanding contributions to media and the arts that help foster the American public’s understanding of law and the legal system.

Larson is honored this year for his 2020 book On Treason: A Citizen’s Guide to the Law. He was a finalist last year for his 2019 book The Trials of Allegiance: Treason, Juries, and the American Revolution.  

The 2021 Silver Gavel Award winners will be announced May 20.

Carlton Larson's research interests focus on constitutional law and legal history. One of the nation’s leading authorities on the law of treason, Professor Larson is the author of the ABA Silver Gavel Award finalist books The Trials of Allegiance: Treason, Juries, and the American Revolution (Oxford University Press) and On Treason: A Citizen’s Guide to the Law (Ecco/HarperCollins).
