Professor Larson Comments on Occupy Sacramento Lawsuit for Sacramento Bee
Professor Carlton Larson commented for the Sacramento Bee on a lawsuit filed on behalf of Occupy Sacramento contending that the First Amendment free assembly rights of protestors are being violated by the City of Sacramento, which has enforced an 11 p.m. curfew in Cesar Chavez Park, requiring protestors to leave the area each night or face arrest. Enforcement of the curfew has led to 79 arrests to date. Professor Larson suggested that if Occupy Sacramento can show that others are violating the curfew with impunity and that protestors are being singled out for arrest, the suit may be successful,
