Professor Keitner Talks to UK's Channel 4 About Iran War

On March 6, Professor Chimène Keither appeared on an episode of Channel 4 News’ The Fourcast podcast centering on the legality and potential for escalation of the Iran war.

“The legal framework that applies to going to war is the U.N. Charter, we have a U.N. Security Council for a reason, and unless the Security Council has authorized the use of force, or force is being used against an imminent threat, there is no legal basis” for the war, Keitner said.

Professor Keitner is a leading authority on international law and civil litigation and served as the 27th Counselor on International Law in the U.S. Department of State.
