Professor Joslin Attends Uniform Parentage Act Revision Committee Meeting
Professor Courtney Joslin attended an in-person drafting meeting for the Revised Uniform Parentage Act (UPA) in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The UPA is promulgated by the Uniform Law Commission, and Professor Joslin is the reporter for the Uniform Law Commission committee charged with updating the UPA to address a number of developments, including the Supreme Court's decision in Obergefell v. Hodges establishing nationwide marriage equality for same-sex couples.
Ari Asher '16 will also be attending the meeting as a representative from the National Center for Lesbian Rights (NCLR). Asher is a UCOP fellow at NCLR.
Professor Joslin is a scholar in the field of family and relationship recognition, with a particular focus on same-sex and non-marital couples.
