Professor Johnson Delivers Keynote Address at Rutgers Law School Symposium
On April 4, Professor Kevin R. Johnson delivered the keynote address at the Rutgers University Law Review symposium, "The Dual Role of Immigration and Citizenship Law."
The symposium featured panels discussing mass deportation, the role of AI and digital surveillance in immigration enforcement, restrictions on citizenship, the economic impact of immigrant workers, and the intersection of immigration and federalism. The Rutgers Law School Center for Immigrant Justice invited Johnson to deliver its annual distinguished lecture, which was also the keynote address at the symposium. The Institute for Professional Education at Rutgers Law School co-sponsored the event.
Kevin R. Johnson is a distinguished professor of law, Mabie-Apallas Professor of Public Interest Law, and Martin Luther King Jr. Professor of Law. Johnson also has an appointment as professor of Chicana/o studies at UC Davis. He served as dean of UC Davis Law from 2008 to 2024. Johnson is an internationally recognized scholar in the fields of immigration law and policy, refugee law, and civil rights.
