Professor Elizabeth Joh addressed policing and artificial intelligence at the inaugural Summer Institute on AI and Society, held July 21-24 in Edmonton, Alberta.

The Institute was jointly sponsored by the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research, the Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute, and UCLA School of Law.

Professor Joh's scholarship focuses on criminal procedure and policing, with a special emphasis on DNA evidence, undercover policing, and new surveillance technologies. She is the recipient of King Hall’s 2017 Distinguished Teaching Award.
