Professor Joh Speaks at Harvard on ‘Big Data' and Policing

Professor Elizabeth Joh spoke at Harvard Law School on February 8, delivering a lecture on her article "The New Surveillance Discretion: Automated Suspicion, Big Data, and Policing," as part of the Harvard Law and Policy Review Spring Symposium "Policing in America: 50 Years After Miranda."  Professor Joh discussed surveillance discretion and the use of new technologies and big data by local police departments to target individuals.

Professor Joh's scholarship focuses on criminal procedure and policing, with a special emphasis on DNA evidence, undercover policing, and new surveillance technologies.
