Professor Joh Addresses Privacy Issues Related to Potential Tulsa Race Massacre Reparations
On Aug. 25, Professor Elizabeth Joh was a featured speaker at the town hall “DNA Databases: Know Your Rights,” hosted by Justice for Greenwood, an advocacy group organizing for reparations on behalf of the descendants of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. The event focused on issues of privacy raised by the city of Tulsa’s project asking the descendant community to contribute DNA samples in order to identify mass grave victims.
Professor Joh's scholarship focuses on criminal law and procedure, with a special emphasis on the police use of new technologies. She is the recipient of King Hall’s 2017 Distinguished Teaching Award.
