Professor Joh addresses city of Oakland's Privacy Advisory Committee

On Aug. 1, Professor Elizabeth Joh spoke before the city of Oakland’s Privacy Advisory Commission about smart cities and policing.

The Privacy Advisory Commission provides advice to the city of Oakland on best practices to protect Oakland residents'  privacy rights in connection with the city's purchase and use of surveillance equipment and other technology that collects or stores residents’ data.

Professor Joh's scholarship focuses on criminal procedure and policing, with a special emphasis on DNA evidence, undercover policing, and new surveillance technologies. She is the recipient of King Hall’s 2017 Distinguished Teaching Award.
