Professor Joe guest lectures in class, joins panel discussion at Stanford Law School

Professor Irene Joe guest lectured on May 22 in Professor Deborah Rhode’s Professional Responsibility class on public defenders at Stanford Law School. Joe spoke primarily about the ethical and professional rules that are most concerning for public defenders.

Joe then participated in a “Women in Academia” panel discussion coordinated by the Women of Stanford Law. Joe and three other professors discussed their paths to legal academia.

Irene Oritseweyinmi Joe teaches Criminal Law, Professional Responsibility, Voir Dire, and Criminal Trials: Theory and Practice, at King Hall. She has significant experience in criminal litigation proceedings, with prior experience representing indigent defendants in capital post-conviction litigation and children sentenced to life in prison without the opportunity for parole.
