Professor Interviewed on CPR Regarding Intellectual Property

Professor Anupam Chander, a leading scholar in the law of globalization and digitization, was recently interviewed on Capitol Public Radio regarding Governor Schwarzenegger's trip to China, which will highlight intellectual property theft, such as goods that are knocked off in China. Included in the Governor's trip is the unveiling of a public service announcement on piracy featuring action star Jackie Chan.

Chander said that lawyers in China are still learning to defend intellectual property rights. Since China has opened up its economy to modernization in some sense, China began its patent and trademark codes in 1982 and 1984 so it's very new to China.

Over the years, lawyers from China have taken advantage of UC Davis School of Law's resources through an International Visiting Scholars Program.
