Professor Imwinkelried Speaks at McGeorge Law Review Symposium

On November 6, 2015, Professor Edward Imwinkelried spoke at  the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law's Law Review Fall Symposium.  The symposium was titled "Sex Crimes and Offenses in an Era of Reform." 

Professor Imwinkelried participated in the panel devoted to "Rethinking Rape Shield Laws."  In his remarks, he discussed the implications of the asymmetries between rape shield laws such as Federal Rule of Evidence 412 and rape sword statutes such as Rule 413 which selectively abolishes the character evidence prohibition in sexual assault prosecutions. 

Professor Imwinkelried is a world-renowned evidence scholar and has published extensively in the field. He is the author of a two-volume treatise on character evidence, Uncharged Misconduct Evidence (rev. 2014).
