Professor Imwinkelried Delivers Keynote on Developments in Scientific Evidence

On June 24, Professor Edward Imwinkelried delivered the keynote address at a joint meeting of the International Society for Wildlife Forensic Science and the North American Forensic Entomology Association in Missoula, Montana. 

Throughout the world governments are increasingly turning to forensic science to prosecute wildlife crimes such as poaching.  In the United States, there is a growing trend to admit forensic entomologists' analysis of the insect activity at homicide scenes as a basis for estimating the minimum postmortem interval.  During his remarks, Professor Imwinkelried discussed significant developments in scientific evidence in the past five years. 

Professor Imwinkelried is a world-renowned evidence scholar and has published extensively in the field. He is the coauthor of Scientific Evidence (5th ed. 2012) and the author of The Methods of Attacking Scientific Evidence (5th ed. 2014).
