Professor Imwinkelried Co-authors New Chapter for Reference Manual
The third edition of the Reference Manual on Scientific Evidence, due to be released by the Federal Judicial Center on September 28, will include a new chapter on forensic science co-authored by Professor Edward Imwinkelried, Professor Paul Giannelli, the Weatherhead Professor of Law at Case Western University in Cleveland (who, with Professor Imwinkelried, co-authored Scientific Evidence), and Professor Joseph Peterson, Professor of Criminal Justice and Criminalistics at California State University, Los Angeles.
The new chapter was commissioned by the Federal Judicial Center, which asked Professors Imwinkelried, Giannelli, and Peterson to write on forensic science for the new edition of the Reference Manual. The Manual is a text widely considered the primary reference for federal practitioners and also used by state judges and practitioners in cases involving expert testimony.
Professor Imwinkelried is a world-renowned evidence expert and has published extensively in the field.
