Professor Ikemoto Speaks at UC Irvine, Rutgers, NSF Workshop

Professor Lisa Ikemoto recently delivered talks at UC Irvine School of Law, at Rutgers School of Law, and at a National Science Foundation workshop in San Francisco.

Speaking at UC Irvine on March 18, Professor Ikemoto presented a paper entitled "Social Identity and Transgression in the Breast Cancer Genome" as part of "Searching for Equality: A Conference on Law, Race & Socio-Economic Class." On April 1 at Rutgers, she took part in a roundtable discussion of "Regulating Assisted Reproduction Technology."  On April 7, she spoke in San Francisco as part of a workshop on "Science, Ethics & Justice."

Lisa Ikemoto teaches bioethics and health law courses at the UC Davis School of Law.  She has written extensively on genetic and reproductive technology, the regulation of fertility and pregnancy, and race and gender disparities in health care.  Her current work examines emerging issues in regenerative medicine, including stem cell research, and the human tissues market.
