Professor Ikemoto Speaks in UC Irvine, Hasting Events Exploring Abortion Rights Threats

Professor Lisa Ikemoto spoke on two panels addressing abortion rights, Texas SB 8 (the abortion “bounty” law), and Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, the Supreme Court case from Mississippi that poses a serious challenge to Roe v. Wade.

On Sept. 14, Ikemoto took part in the UC Irvine School of Law virtual event “Supreme Court Review: The State of Reproductive Rights and Justice in America.” On Sept. 15, Ikemoto participated in the UC Hastings College of the Law hybrid in-person/webinar event “Is it the End for a Right to Abortion?”

Lisa Ikemoto, Martin Luther King Jr. Professor of Law at UC Davis School of Law, has written extensively on genetic and reproductive technology, the regulation of fertility and pregnancy, and race and gender disparities in health care. Her current work examines emerging issues in regenerative medicine, including stem cell research, and the human tissues market.
