Professor Ikemoto speaks as part of Davis Cherry Blossom Festival

On Nov. 15, Professor Lisa Ikemoto spoke on a panel as part of the Davis Cherry Blossom Festival: A Change is Gonna Come event.

The panel, “Never Again, Again: Memories of Japanese American Redress for Decarceration and Reparations,” addressed the movement for Japanese American redress, connections between that movement and the call for Black reparations, and the importance of multiracial coalition work. The panel discussion begins around the two-hour, 34-minute mark of this video from the virtual event.

Lisa Ikemoto, Martin Luther King Jr. Professor of Law at UC Davis School of Law, has written extensively on genetic and reproductive technology, the regulation of fertility and pregnancy, and race and gender disparities in health care. Her current work examines emerging issues in regenerative medicine, including stem cell research, and the human tissues market.
