Professor Ikemoto lends expertise to College of Biological Sciences virtual town hall

Professor Lisa Ikemoto was the featured speaker in a May 8 virtual town hall discussion presented by the UC Davis College of Biological Sciences. She addressed the disproportionate impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on people of color, and racial, gender and socioeconomic disparities in access to health care in the United States.

It was one of a series of Friday town halls presented by the College of Biological Sciences and focused on the pandemic. Professor Elizabeth Joh will be the featured speaker for the May 29 event.

Lisa Ikemoto, Martin Luther King Jr. Professor of Law at UC Davis School of Law, has written extensively on genetic and reproductive technology, the regulation of fertility and pregnancy, and race and gender disparities in health care. Her current work examines emerging issues in regenerative medicine, including stem cell research, and the human tissues market.
