Professor Hillman Comments for Wall Street Journal on Dewey & LeBoeuf Collapse
Professor Robert Hillman commented for the Wall Street Journal on the Dewey & LeBoeuf bankruptcy and financial fraud case. The storied firm's collapse serves as an example of the risks of merging large firms with different cultures, Hillman said.
"If you don't follow through to integrate the two firms into one, then the merger is not going to be successful," said Hillman. "You're combining highly successful, driven people. That cannot ever be easy."
Robert Hillman is a Professor of Law and holds the Fair Business Practices and Investor Advocacy Chair at UC Davis School of Law. He is a scholar in the fields of international transactions, securities regulation, and corporate and partnership law.
