Professor Hillman Comments on Suit for AmLaw Daily

Professor Robert Hillman commented for AmLaw Daily on an attempt by Stroock & Stroock & Lavan to invalidate a lawsuit filed in California by a former partner over retirement benefits he says he is owed even after jumping from Stroock to another firm.  Professor Hillman commented that although he is not familiar with the relevant policies at Stroock, it is becoming increasingly common for law firms to include provisions in partnership agreements that force partners to forfeit retirement benefits if they join another firm.

Robert Hillman is a Professor of Law and holds the Fair Business Practices and Investor Advocacy Chair at UC Davis School of Law.  He is a scholar in the fields of international transactions, securities regulation, and corporate and partnership law.
