Professor Hillman Comments on Outgoing SEC Chair for Denver Post

Professor Robert Hillman commented on the tenure of outgoing Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Christopher Cox for a story in the Denver Post.  Cox, a Bush administration appointee, has stepped down, prompting assessments of his work with the SEC, which Professor Hillman characterized as overly passive at a time when Wall Street firms were increasing their trading in risky derivatives and complex securities backed by mortgages.

Hillman, professor of Law and Fair Business Practices and Investor Advocacy Chair at UC Davis, is a scholar in the fields of international transactions, securities regulation, and corporate and partnership law.
