Professor Hillman Comments on Goldman Sachs Investigation for Reuters
Professor Robert Hillman commented for Reuters news agency on reports that Goldman Sachs Chief Executive Lloyd Blankfein has hired high-profile Washington defense attorney Reid Weingarten as the Justice Department continues to investigate the banking firm.
Professor Hillman said the move showed that Blankfein "has some concern over action that is likely to be taken, presumably by the Justice Department." But he added, "It does not signify that he is guilty, or that any action is definitely going to be taken."
Professor Hillman holds the Fair Business Practices and Investor Advocacy Chair at UC Davis School of Law and is a scholar in the fields of international transactions, securities regulation, and corporate and partnership law.
