Professor Harris is keynote speaker at University of Virginia conference
Professor Emerita Angela P. Harris delivered the keynote address on “The Civil Rights of Health” at a conference presented by the University of Virginia Schools of Law, Nursing and Medicine. Professor Harris explained how racial disparities in access to and quality of health care have lifelong impacts on communities of color. Watch the video.
Professor Harris is a Professor Emerita at UC Davis School of Law, where she was the Boochever and Bird Endowed Chair for the Study and Teaching of Freedom of Equality, as well as Director of the Aoki Center for Critical Race and Nation Studies at UC Davis School of Law. One of the nation's foremost scholars in the fields of critical race theory, feminist legal theory, and civil rights, she joined the UC Davis faculty from UC Berkeley School of Law in 2011.
