Professor Frank takes students to watch state Supreme Court, talks to AP

On Nov. 6, Professor Rick Frank ’74 led a group of King Hall students to observe as the state Supreme Court heard oral arguments in Sacramento.

The case involved the constitutionality of SB 27, a controversial, newly enacted California statute that requires presidential candidates who wish to appear on California’s 2020 ballot to release their personal tax returns as a condition of doing so.

While there, Professor Frank spoke to Associated Press reporter Don Thompson, who sought Frank’s predictions about how the California Supreme Court – which is led by the Chief Justice of California, Tani Cantil-Sakauye ’84 – might rule in the case. Read the AP story
