Professor Frank Speaks at Land Use Conference

Professor Richard Frank spoke at UCLA on February 11 as part of conference entitled "Local Agencies on the Cutting Edge: Emerging Challenges to Local Land Use Authority." The conference, sponsored by the Municipal Law Institute of the League of California Cities and co-sponsored by King Hall's new California Environmental Law & Policy Center, attracted 100 local government attorneys from throughout California.  Frank spoke on the subjects of property rights, the Takings Clause, and implications for local governments of the U.S. Supreme Court's recent decision in Stop the Beach Renourishment v. Florida Dept. of Environmental Protection.

Frank, a 1974 graduate of King Hall, recently was named as founding Director of the new California Environmental Law and Policy Center at UC Davis School of Law.
