Professor Frank serves as Climate Action Summit delegate, speaks at event

Professor of Environmental Practice Rick Frank served as a delegate to Gov. Jerry Brown’s Global Climate Action Summit Sept. 12-14 in San Francisco.

Frank spoke on an affiliated program titled “Oil & Autos: Transition Planning for a Low-Carbon Future.” The specific focus of his presentation was the looming conflict between the State of California and the Trump administration over California’s continued ability to set greenhouse-gas tailpipe emission limits more stringent than the federal government’s; federal rollbacks of corporate average fuel economy (CAFE) standards for motor vehicles; and what those developments portend for the nation’s ability to reduce GHG emissions from America’s transportation sector in the future.
