Professor Frank to Receive a California Lawyer of the Year Award
California Lawyer magazine has announced that Professor of Environmental Practice and California Environmental Law & Policy Center Director Rick Frank '74 has been selected to receive the publication's 2015 California Lawyer of the Year Award in the category of Water Law.
Professor Frank is being recognized for his successful advocacy, on behalf of environmental organizations and the commercial fishing industry, that California's public trust doctrine applies to the state's groundwater resources that affect surface river and stream flows. The Sacramento County Superior Court ruled in favor of Frank and his clients in 2014.
Professor Frank's legal achievement will be profiled in the March 2015 issue of California Lawyer. He and his fellow CLAY awardees will receive the awards from California Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye '84 at a March 16 ceremony in San Francisco.
