Professor Frank Quoted in Los Angeles Times on Environmental Lawsuits
Professor of Environmental Practice Richard Frank was quoted in the Los Angeles Times regarding lawsuits that have been filed against Southern California Gas Company following the Porter Ranch natural gas leak in Southern California and their potential impacts on other California utilities. The article also ran in the Sacramento Bee
"These lawsuits are going to serve as a wake-up call, not just for SoCal Gas, but other gas utilities around the state that the government oversight is there and willing to take legal action," said Frank. "It reflects both the volume of the natural gas releases and the collective impatience with this public agency."
Frank, a 1974 graduate of King Hall, is a leader in the field of environmental law and the founding Director of the California Environmental Law and Policy Center at UC Davis School of Law.
