Professor Frank Publishes Op-ed on Supreme Court in Daily Journal

Professor Rick Frank has published an op-ed in the Daily Journal regarding the recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling in American Electric Power v. Connecticut

"The Supreme Court's decision in [American Electric Power] unquestionably ends the ability of California and other environmental plaintiffs to rely on the federal law of nuisance to address climate change concerns," writes Frank.  "But the environmentalists' loss could have been a lot worse.  The Supreme Court confirmed ... that at least states have constitutional standing to pursue other forms of climate change litigation in the federal courts."

Frank, a 1974 graduate of King Hall, is the founding Director of the new California Environmental Law and Policy Center at UC Davis School of Law.
