Professor Frank Publishes Op-Ed in Los Angeles and San Francisco Daily Journal Editions

Professor of Environmental Practice Richard Frank ’74 published an op-ed in the Los Angeles and San Francisco editions of the Daily Journal. Professor Frank discussed Knick v. Township of Scott, concerning the conflict between environmental regulation and private property rights.

According to Frank, “The Knick case arises out of a humble land use dispute from rural Pennsylvania, but it could wind up having a profound impact on the Supreme Court’s takings clause jurisprudence.” Specifically, the case asks the Supreme Court to reconsider its “ripeness” doctrine, a controversial procedural issue of regulatory takings law.

Professor Frank is a leader in the field of environmental law and the founding Director of the California Environmental Law and Policy Center at UC Davis School of Law.
