Professor Frank leads student field trips to Lake Tahoe, Bodega Bay

Recently, Professor of Environmental Practice Rick Frank ’74 led his students on two important field trips in connection with the environmental law courses he taught in the spring 2019 King Hall semester.

He and his California Environmental Law & Policy students traveled to UC Davis’ Tahoe Environmental Research Center at North Lake Tahoe for a day of briefings on the Lake Tahoe-related science that has driven environmental policy in the Tahoe Basin for a half century; state and regional agencies responsible for land use planning and regulation in the basin; and the League to Save Lake Tahoe.

Separately, Frank led his Ocean & Coastal Law students on a field trip to UCD’s Marine Biology Laboratory at Bodega Bay. There, they received an overview of the laboratory’s history and mission from the lab’s director, an extensive tour of the facilities; and exposure to several specific ocean science research topics being pursued by lab staff and postgraduate researchers.
