Professor Frank Comments on Climate Change Suit for Daily Journal
Professor of Environmental Practice Richard Frank commented for the Daily Journal on a lawsuit filed by Cotchett, Pitre & McCarthy seeking to force the federal government to radically curb greenhouse gas emissions. Professor Frank said that although the government should not underestimate the firm and its allies, the lawsuit is probably unlikely to succeed.
"This lawsuit kind of runs counter to longstanding principle that judges will not intrude on the discretionary decisions of executive branch officials," said Frank.
Frank, a 1974 graduate of King Hall, is a leader in the field of environmental law and the founding Director of the California Environmental Law and Policy Center at UC Davis School of Law.
