Professor Feeney Interviewed on Microsoft Email Case by Bloomberg Law
On Monday, August 24, Professor Floyd Feeney participated in a discussion on the Bloomberg Law internet radio program Bloomberg Law Brief concerning Microsoft's legal challenge to a federal warrant authorizing a search of customer email. Microsoft lost in the trial court. An appeal is now pending before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second District. David Thaw, a University of Pittsburgh law professor, was the other panelist. The case is likely to go the US Supreme Court.
Floyd Feeney is the Homer G. and Ann Berryhill Angelo Professor of Law at the UC Davis School of Law and the winner of the Law School's Distinguished Teaching Award in 1986 and 2008. The author of seven books and numerous articles, Feeney has received awards from the National Institute of Justice and the California Probation, Parole, and Correctional Association, and is a nationally recognized scholar on election law.
