Professor Feeney Comments on Murder Case for Sacramento Bee and KCRA

Professor Floyd Feeney commented on the murder of eight-year-old Tracy girl Sandra Cantu for a recent story in the Sacramento Bee.  The story reported on allegations against Melissa Huckaby, who is charged with murder with the special circumstances of rape with a foreign object, lewd or lascivious conduct with a child under 14, and murder in the course of a kidnapping.  Professor Feeney described the allegations as "extremely rare," given that only a very small percentage of homicides are committed by females against females, and only a very small percentage of homicides by females involve sex.

Professor Feeney was also an expert panelist for a live interview on the Cantu case, which aired on the 6 o'clock edition of KCRA-3 Reports.

Feeney, a professor of law at UC Davis, is a leader in the fields of criminal justice and election law. He is one of the founding faculty members of the Law School, having joined the staff in 1968.
