Professor Emeritus Brownstein, Illinois Law Dean Amar Begin Justia Series on SCOTUS and the Free Exercise Clause

On April 30, Justia published the first in a series of articles by Professor Emeritus Alan E. Brownstein and former UC Davis Law Senior Associate Dean Vikram Amar — now dean at the University of Illinois College of Law — that explored the Supreme Court’s (apparent) adoption of a “Most Favored Nation” approach to protecting religious liberty under the Free Exercise clause. Read the article.

Professor Brownstein, a nationally recognized constitutional law scholar, taught Constitutional Law, Law and Religion, and Torts at UC Davis School of Law for more than 30 years. Before his retirement from full-time teaching, he held the Boochever and Bird Endowed Chair for the Study and Teaching of Freedom and Equality.
