Professor Elvy selected as part of prestigious UC Davis CAMPSSAH initiative

Professor Stacy-Ann Elvy has been chosen as part of the 2019-20 inaugural cohort of faculty scholars for the Center for the Advancement of Multicultural Perspectives on Social Sciences, Arts, and Humanities (CAMPSSAH) at UC Davis.

CAMPSSAH builds on the existing Center for the Advancement of Multicultural Perspectives on Science (CAMPOS), for STEM faculty. Both initiatives focus on expanding the presence of women and underrepresented faculty in their respective disciplines.

Stacy-Ann Elvy is a professor of law and Martin Luther King Jr. Hall Research Scholar at UC Davis School of Law. Her research focuses on “the commercial law of privacy” and its relationship to emerging technology, and human rights law. Her scholarship has been published in leading legal journals and books, including the Columbia Law Review, Boston College Law Review, and the Research Handbook on the Law of Artificial Intelligence. In 2019, she received the Otto L. Walter Distinguished Writing Award. Her forthcoming book, The Internet of Things: The Future of Commercial Law and Privacy (Cambridge University Press), will explore the consumer and legal implications of the Internet of Things. She holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School and a B.S. from Cornell University.
