Professor Elmendorf Receives National Science Foundation Research Award

The Methods, Measurement, and Statistics program at the National Science Foundation has funded a research proposal jointly submitted by Professor Christopher S. Elmendorf with UC San Diego Political Science Professor Marisa Abrajano and UC Berkeley Law Professor Kevin Quinn. 

The project, "Collaborative Research: Measuring Apparent Race and Ethnicity, with Applications to the Study of Discrimination,” will receive $397,236 in support over a two-year period. Most of the funds will be routed through the UC Berkeley campus to pay for research subjects, though a portion will run through UC Davis and UC San Diego. Among other things, the UC Davis portion will support the development of web-based research tools, with help from Web Application Developer Jason Aller in the King Hall IT department.

Christopher S. Elmendorf is a Professor of Law at UC Davis School of Law whose teaching and research interests include election law, administrative law, statutory interpretation, constitutional law, and property and natural resources law.
