Professor Elmendorf Cited in Key Case for Housing Advocates

California’s First District Court of Appeal cited Professor Christopher Elmendorf in a decision that marked a victory for housing advocates, in California Renters Legal Advocacy and Education Fund v. City of San Mateo.

Elmendorf’s 2019 Hastings Law Journal article “Beyond the Double Veto: Housing Plans as Preemptive Intergovernmental Compacts” was cited. Elmendorf filed an amicus brief in the case on behalf of Professor Darien Shanske and several other law professors.
