Professor Doremus Publishes Slate Essay on Supreme Court Ruling

Professor Holly Doremus has published an essay in the online magazine Slate on the recent Supreme Court ruling allowing the U.S. Navy to continue submarine sonar training exercises despite lawsuits filed by environmental groups claiming that the practice is harmful to marine life.   Professor Doremus writes that the Court's holding that "the public interest in effective military training outweighed the environmental case against deep-sea noise pollution" was "neither surprising nor sweeping."

Professor Holly Doremus is one of the country's leading scholars in the areas of biodiversity protection and the intersection of environmental law and natural science.
