Professor Dodge participates in State Department Advisory Committee meeting

On Oct. 18, Professor William S. Dodge participated in a meeting of the State Department’s Advisory Committee on International Law. The committee meets twice a year in Washington, D.C., to advise the Legal Adviser’s Office on current questions of international law and international legal policy. Its meetings are open to the public but are subject to Chatham House Rules, which prohibit reporting what was discussed. Professor Dodge has served as a member of the committee since 2009.

Professor Dodge is Martin Luther King Jr. Professor of Law and John D. Ayer Chair in Business Law at UC Davis School of Law. He served as Counselor on International Law to the Legal Adviser at the U.S. Department of State from 2011 to 2012 and as Co-Reporter for the American Law Institute’s Restatement (Fourth) of Foreign Relations Law from 2012 to 2018.
