Professor Cooper Participates in National Immigration Law Conference

Professor Holly Cooper spoke on a panel at the annual conference of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), held June 25–28, 2008, in Vancouver, BC. Cooper discussed the new national uniform practice and procedural rules that have replaced the local rules of procedure, as well as best practices for asylum cases involving issues of sexual orientation. As a lecturer at the School of Law, Cooper specializes in immigration law and detained immigrants' rights. AILA is an organization comprising more than 10,000 attorneys and law professors who practice or teach immigration law. Its 2009 conference will be held in Las Vegas, NV.
