Professor Cooper Discusses Immigrant Rights in Eureka Reporter
Professor Holly S. Cooper was interviewed for a September 5, 2008, Eureka Reporter article on immigrant rights. In light of the recent arrest of 23 Sun Valley Floral Farms employees, Cooper noted that immigrants, when contacted in any manner by federal immigration agents, should remain silent and avoid incriminating themselves, which is their right under the Fifth Amendment.
Cooper serves as a professor of law at the UC Davis Immigration Law Clinic. Her areas of specialty include immigration law and detained immigrants' rights.
