Professor Chin Delivers Barrock Lecture on Criminal Law at Marquette University Law School

Professor Gabriel “Jack” Chin delivered the Barrock Lecture on Criminal Law at Marquette University Law School, speaking on the collateral consequences of criminal convictions. Convicted felons may face a long list of consequences that make it difficult for them to find employment and become productive members of society, Chin said, including loss of voting rights, deportation, disqualification from professional licenses, exclusion from public housing, and more. The November 8 lecture drew coverage in Urban Milwaukee.

Gabriel "Jack" Chin is Martin Luther King, Jr. Professor of Law and holder of the Edward L. Barrett, Jr. Endowed Chair at UC Davis School of Law. He is a prolific and much-cited criminal and immigration law scholar whose work has addressed many of the most pressing social issues of our time.
